Light Bearers

Did you know there are billions of people on-line?  Facebook alone has over a billion users. More and more people are blogging, reading blogs, connecting on Twitter, Google+, and Instagram.

I read someone’s status update on Facebook the other day and it said something like this,  Facebook has over a billion users.  Where is the church to minister to them? That statement struck me.  I couldn’t help but reflect on how much our culture has changed due to technology.  And being that I have an on-line ministry, of course this status update caused me to ponder my efforts, especially when I feel like I’m not making an impact here is this on-line space.

Light Bearers

But then I did something.  I dug into my statistics here on the blog and it showed me a bit of my on-line reality.  And then I was blown away by what I saw.  God’s hand was moving in this ministry and moving all over the world via the internet.  The map below shows where my posts have gone into the world.  (The red parts of the world is where the majority of the readers of this blog comes from.  Bright orange, the second. Etc. )

world

It’s amazing to me to think that God could move words that I typed in my little living room to reach almost the entire world.  After seeing all of this, I couldn’t help but think about all the various avenues of social media, as well as, all the tools we use that can truly make an impact for God’s glory. We’re on our ipod, ipad, or iphone all the time and image after image just streams through our status updates.  Now I don’t know about you but I’m always so encouraged when I see an image that points to Jesus Christ, one that speaks the Truth or gives me a word of encouragement.  Because we all need to be uplifted, right?

Would you like to join me and use your time on social media to build the Kingdom of God?  Become a Light Bearer with me!  Become an on-line missionary or an on-line Barnabas, one who encourages a fellow soldier in the Lord, with me.  Be an on-line user that is a city on a hill!

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”  Matt. 5:14

Here’s how you can shine your light on-line:  If you’re on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, etc. you can use any of my images that I have listed below. Just click on the picture and then you can copy it and share it with others.

Make social media epic.  Breathe Jesus all over it.  Use your influence to point others to Jesus Christ.

(Not on social media?  Feel free to share my posts with others via email.)

I have need of you. - Jesus He said to his disciples, "The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields." Matthew 9:37,38
My insecurities fade when I focus on my maker.
Trust Never put a question mark where the lord has put a period
I want Christ reigning in my heart so much that I can feel two heart beasts; mine and His
Seeing how God is a whole lot smarter than I am, I'd prefer to follow in his footsteps than have him follow in mine
Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength - nehemiah 8:10
Keeping your mind on christ while you're walking in His ways will bring you peace. - Jolene engle
It doesn't matter what the world says, I know what the bible says and I stand by it's transforming power
People say, "you take this Jesus thing too seriously" well, i don't know, christ took me pretty seriously when he died for me on that cross
but the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid for I know that you seek, Jesus, who was crucified" "he is not here; he is risen, as he said" matthew 28:6
A wise woman builds up her husband, but a foolish one tears him down. (proverbs 14:1) I want to be a wise woman!
A god-fearing marriage is a true testimony of christ-like love to a dark and lost world. When your marriage is like that, your life is representing christ and the church!
Just because I submit to my husband, this does not make me and idiot.
If you allow the seeds of complacency to grow in your marriage, your love will wilt. But if you sow seeds of intentionality, your love will blossom
What every marriage needs in order for any marriage to be successful, thriving and God-honoring, forgiveness needs to be at the core of it. - Jolene engle
The 12 ways of a godly wife... 1 - to love him (titus 2:4) 2 - to respect him. (eph. 5:33) 3 - to be his lover. (1 cor. 7:2-5) 4 - to be a wife he can trust. (prov. 31:11) 5 - to build himp up and encourage him. (prov. 14:1) 6 - to be his friend. Prov 27:17 7 - to fight the battles of life with him rather than against him. (Eccl. 4:12) 8 - to bear his burdens. (Galatians 6:2) 9 - To forgive him. (Matt 18:22) 10 - to be more concerned about my sin rather than his sin. (Matt. 7:5) 11 - to be a content wife rather than a complaning wife. (phil 2:14) 12 - to be a discreet wife. (Titus 2:5)
Choose Respect 1. Be more concerned with your walk with the Lord, rather than your husband's. You are your man's wife, not his Holy spirit. 2 - continue to build him up rather than tear him down. You'll create a lot of peace in your home by doing this. 3 - Share your heart with him. 4 - Become best friends. Ask him about his day. Take up a hobby with him. 5 - Become even better lovers. 6 - put more effort into your role as a wife, than your role as a mom. Remember, the marital relationship cam before motherhood. 7 - it's easy to nag, condemn and criticize. when you feel the tendency to speak like this, instead, do the opposite. speak loving, encouraging, and uplifting words into his life. if you can't do this then just bite your tongue. 8 - forgive him like christ has forgiven you. Keep the right perspective. Remember that you'r a sinner too! 9 - The two of you are one. So if he's broken, hurting, insecure, etc. guess what you are too! :) handle him with care. 10 - Rinse and repeat
As a wife you have tremendous influence over your husband. Use your influence to draw him closer to you and to your god. - Jolene engle
I'm striving to be a wife who speaks words of kindness. she opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness - proverbs 31:26
When your husband falls or when he's hurting, be the first one to minister to him become the good smaritan wife to your man
I want to be a wife of the word, not a wife of the world - jolene engle
The kind of man a christian woman should marry is a man who loves jesus christ more than he loves her
i want my kids to have a strong spiritual life where they will soar for the lord. so I need to be intentional to fan the flame of their child-like faith - jolene engle
One of the most important lessons a parent can teach their child is for them to grow in the grace and knowledge of our lord and savior jesus christ - jolene engle
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. 3 John 1:4
When God is moving in your life you can bet the enemy is too!
Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor in the morning the devil says, "oh no, she's up!"
