Christ-centered Marriage Goals

I love a New Year. It gives me a fresh start. A clean slate. And a do-over from the previous year (which was a complete heartbreak!) Maybe your prior year was devastating or maybe it was amazing either way, as you move into this coming year, having some goals for your marriage is always a good thing!

In this podcast episode, Eric and I discuss some Christ-centered goals that you and your spouse can implement this coming year.

Scripture References:

Be Diligent in Prayer
Pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thes. 5:17,18

Trust God
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. Isaiah 43:18 NLT

Remain Hopeful
Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread. Psalm 37:25

Create a Vision
Where there is no vision, the people perish. Proverbs 29:18

Act Like Jesus even when you don’t feel like it.
Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs. Proverbs 10:12

Rest
Cease striving and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

Be Forgetful and Press On
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13,14

Surrender to God’s Word
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1,2

Live a poured out life for Christ,
