The #1 Thing Every Woman Needs
Well, of course, every woman needs chocolate, right? Or coffee?
Maybe if I wrote out a list of 25 things, then chocolate and coffee would definitely make that list! But today I’m sharing the one particular thing that your soul can’t live without.
No matter the age or stage of life, every woman needs this one thing. It’s a simple thing, really. And it’s not a secret, although, many don’t really know the power this one thing holds, because if they did, their outlook on life would look so much different from what it currently is. Their hearts would be filled with joy instead of sorrow. Peace instead of fear.
Often times we’re too busy to realize how this one thing would bring us comfort, guidance, love, acceptance, purpose, and hope. Yes, all the things that every woman so desires in her life.
Here’s a true story of a woman who chose this one thing. She’s a smart gal and we would be wise to emulate her, more so, than her sister.
As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Mark 10:38-42
Sitting at the Lord’s feet and being in His presence is what every woman needs. No amount of sorrow, instability, pain, loss, fear, or doubt can overshadow His glorious presence.
Are you single looking for a man to love you?
Maybe you’re married and you want a better relationship with your husband?
Are you a mama walking through some tough seasons of parenting?
Concerned about the bills and your dwindling bank account?
Is there a difficult relationship that stirs up anxiety or anger in your heart?
Are you fearful of your future?
Saddened over your past?
All of these concerns fade when you’re in the presence of the Lord.
Although it’s easy to rush about our days being like Martha, let’s be women who choose to be like Mary; a woman who knows what’s needed most- that of sitting at her Master’s feet.
You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3
