Have You Ever Been Falsely Accused?
Has your character ever been attacked?
Mine has. And let’s just say when that happens, I’m not too fond of it, either! It bends me out of shape in a BIG way.
But then I look at Jesus….
Not only was He falsely accused but He was put to death as well!
He didn’t defend Himself, instead, He put His life in the Lord’s hands. It is the Lord who validated Him and vindicated Him. (Oh, when will I learn?)
To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. 1 Peter 2:21
I want to be a gracious woman and a warrior who let’s her Lord fight her battles. But in doing these things, I must look to Christ as my example when I suffer wrongly.
As much as my flesh hates to think I will take the high road when the accusations come, I will remind myself that life is not about me. It’s about living in such a way that my Savior is lifted high…even if that means my character will be attacked and I’ll be wrongly accused for something. Hard lesson? You betcha! (Still learning it and it’s definitely not a fun process. 🙂 )
Are you learning this lesson too? Look to Jesus as your example, my friend.
Below is James MacDonald’s short video showing where Jesus walked when He was falsely accused.
Today we meet at Jerusalem’s Antonia Fortress—the very place where the Son of God was questioned by Pilate and falsely accused by those who wanted to put Him to death. Let this reminder of His suffering stir your heart to worship during this holy week. ~Pastor James MacDonald
Antonia Fortres: Christ’s Suffering Continues
Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” Jesus said to him, “It is as you say.” —Matthew 27:11
Live a poured out life for Christ,
Oh my! That really touched me! I struggle with taking the high road and I felt a conviction when I read your post! Jesus suffered so that we would not have to. Our battles are already won! 🙂 Great post as always!!
That’s right, Sha’Wakanee, our battles are already won!
This post really speaks to me. I am battling being falsely accused of many things at my current job. I am having a very hard time not breaking down or yelling at EVERYONE. 🙂 Of course I know that is not right. I know I need to stick up for myself, but in a respectful and classy manor. But this post really helps to put things into perspective. Thanks!
I’m so sorry to hear about your situation, Courtney. I know what you’re going through is not easy and I’m blessed to hear that what I shared ministered to you.
